Edward Hollis qualified in 2006 after training with a regional commercial property practice and joined Arist as a founding associate in 2009, becoming partner in 2014. His practice covers commercial property transactions, landlord and tenant disputes, and residential conveyancing concentrated on higher-value properties.

On the commercial side, he acts for both landlords and tenants on lease negotiations, renewals and dilapidations claims, recently advising a landlord client through a contested dilapidations claim against an outgoing retail tenant. He also handles acquisitions and disposals for commercial property investors buying in Manchester and Leeds city centres.

His residential work is deliberately limited to higher-value transactions, where he argues clients benefit from a solicitor rather than a licensed conveyancer managing complex chains, unusual title issues or listed building consents. Edward keeps his own caseload capped so that each transaction receives his direct attention rather than being passed to a conveyancing assistant partway through. He trained in Leeds before moving to Manchester in 2009.
